Description

Duration: 2 years assignment with possible of extension

Pay range: $25.00 - 28.14/hr on w2 (all inclusive)

Working hours: 32-40 hours per week


NOTES:
Overview

• Supports capital projects including gas, construction, and electric work.
• Team consists of 12 staff members.
• Responsible for understanding construction activity and the impact on surrounding communities.
• Primary messaging focuses on customer safety and helping the public navigate around construction zones.
• Develops communications and delivers them directly to affected customers.
Door-to-Door Communication Process
• Project Support Specialist reports to the office daily.
• Receives an email from the Coordinator containing:
– Project details
– A customer letter
– Route map
– Number of customers on the route
– The correct door hanger to use
• Specialist prints the letter, inserts it into the door hanger, and prepares materials for delivery.
• Communications are not delivered during rain or snow.
• Door hangers must be placed on the property’s front door or fence, never in a mailbox.
Business Delivery Requirements
• Specialist should ask to speak with the business owner and hand-deliver the communication.
• Must capture and document business-owner information.
Role Qualities & Expectations
• Enjoys working outdoors and engaging with the public.
• Has familiarity with construction or local communities or carries a positive demeanor when interacting with them.
• Must be able to use a computer and Outlook for calendar management.
• Work is heavily field based.
Validation & Reporting
• At the end of each route, the contractor completes a checklist including street-level details and key findings.
• Must take a photo of the route map and send it to the Public Affairs Specialist to confirm correct materials were used.
• Uses an app to verify geo location.
• Uses their own personal mobile phone for field work.
Must be available for daily 8am call to go over the schedule and findings .

Driving Required:
Is driving required for this role? If yes, please provide details on the specific driving requirements, if applicable. Yes, the prospective candidate will perform canvassing for door-to-door notifications for capital work. They will drive to the office daily and then drive to residential, business, rural, suburban, etc. to deliver construction update materials to customer doors or businesses.
MVR Required
Safety Vest Required; supplier or candidate is responsible for purchasing.


Job Description (Contractor Role)
Role Summary

The Project Support Specialist is responsible for delivering customer facing outreach materials, including construction update letters and door hangers, across Client’s service territory. This position ensures timely, accurate distribution of notifications; supports customer communication efforts; and documents relevant field observations for team follow up.

Key Responsibilities
•Receive outreach request emails containing assignment details (letter, door hanger type, route map, and quantities).
•Print, fold, assemble, and insert outreach letters into door hangers.
•Walk 7–10 miles per day in all seasons while performing deliveries.
•Deliver 600–700 door hangers per day to residential and business customers across multiple municipalities (typically 4–6 per day).
•Place door hangers on residential doors; for businesses, enter the premises and deliver materials directly to the owner or manager.
•Collect and document business owner names and contact information for follow up.
•Report significant observations or customer concerns encountered during delivery.
•Complete an end of day checklist and submit it to the Project Coordinator.
•During inclement weather, report to the office to prepare door hangers for future requests.

Work Schedule & Location
•Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
•Daily reporting location:
oNorth – Clifton, NJ
•Delivery region:
oNorthern – Bergen County to Union County
oSouthern – Union County to Gloucester County
•25–40 hours per week with a daily 30 minute lunch break.

•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of integrity.

•Professional and friendly conduct in customer-facing environments.
•Valid NJ driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (mileage and tolls reimbursed).
•Ability to walk long distances and work in various weather conditions.
•High School Diploma or equivalent required.
•Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Verification Process
•Contractor takes photo of materials and map and text team member to ensure accuracy before starting route.
•Contractor takes geotagged photos at start and end points, and when required, along the route.
•Contractors takes geotagged photos of businesses that are closed or vacant.
