Our team is composed of project managers, administrators, superintendents and craftsmen that self-perform on-site supervision, quality control, safety, cost estimating, administration and project management.SUMMARY & PURPOSE OF POSITION:Responsible for assisting Lead Estimators with completing estimates that are accurate and competitive. Develops relationships with subcontractors / vendors and seeks new subcontractors to bid work. Assists project team with construction buy-out. This position may require travel to project jobsite locations. Due to this, anyone in this position must have a clean background check and a valid, current driver's license. This position reports to the Vice President. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:Assists lead estimators to develop estimates, budgets, quantity surveys and proposals accurately and competitivelyAssists with project buyout and assists the Project Managers through construction to project closeoutAttends pre- bid conferences and site visitsAssists with bid day processes and proposal submission detailsAssists with risk and opportunity analysis by performing a thorough review of all bidding documents and consulting with all team membersAssists in preparing estimates and provides help in completion of proposal composition and review and modificationUses construction and estimating software to complete estimates and quantity take-offReview and understand plans and specificationsCreate project schedules for bids and assist in pre-construction, offering assistance for technical plans, budget, risk assessments and other work as neededProvide critical design review and guidance to Design Team during the entire design processCultivate subcontractor and supplier relationships including seeking new relationships, answering inquiries and reviewing scopes of workBuild, maintain and improve relationships with facility managers and construction ownersSKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in construction preferredDesign/Build Healthcare estimating experience is preferredCompetent skills with computer programs and on screen takeoff softwareDevelop a complete, accurate and competitive proposal by always having a global understanding of the project prior to beginning the estimateStrong proficiency with Microsoft Suite products and scheduling softwareExhibits high level ability to interpret plans and specificationsMaintain ethics in bidding and in disseminating post bid informationUnderstanding of direct and indirect costs to projects and exhibits a high level of understanding of project scopes and pricingScheduling preparation of proposals through proper capacity management, reducing last minute crisis managementFamiliar with construction schedulingWilling to travel for site visits and bid deliveries as neededAbility to communicate effectively orally and writtenDemonstrates a strong work ethic and a professional attitude towards colleaguesProven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, self-motivated and highly enthusiasticAbility to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environmentPHYSICAL DEMANDAbility to communicate in person, by phone and electronicallyAbility to work on the computer for extended hoursAbility to travel by air, car or train and remain standing for long periods of time and navigate through construction sitesLight physical work; ability to lift, file, stoop up to 10 poundsCould be subject to loud noises and changes in the environment temperatureWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
