    Role Summary

The Construction Administrator leads consistent, high-quality Construction Administration (CA) across multiple active projects, ensuring RFIs, submittals, field reports, change orders, and issue resolution are managed proactively and closed out completely. The position brings strong “how it gets built” expertise—sequencing, means-and-methods realities, and common failure points—to help teams make sound decisions during construction, protect life safety and owner value, and avoid rework or repeat issues. In addition, the role strengthens BHDP performance by capturing lessons learned and translating them into practical standards, tools, and coaching, while building trusted relationships with owners, contractors, and consultants and maintaining disciplined documentation, contract boundaries, and controlled CA effort.

    Responsibilities
    • Responsible for consistent, high-quality construction administration across multiple active projects at once. Maintains clear priorities, meets response timelines, and ensures field documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and issue resolution are managed to completion without items slipping or reappearing later.
    • Builds and shares practical, repeatable BHDP knowledge about how projects get built—means/methods realities, sequencing, typical failure points, and how to document and communicate effectively during construction. Captures lessons learned and converts them into tools, standards, and coaching that improve future design and CA performance.
    • Identifies and resolves construction-phase issues quickly and professionally, focusing on life safety, constructability, quality, and owner value. Evaluates options and impacts, escalates appropriately, documents decisions clearly, and verifies the solution is implemented correctly in the field.
    • Develops trusted working relationships with owners, contractors, and consultants while protecting BHDP’s professional responsibilities and contract boundaries. Communicates clearly, follows through reliably, and earns credibility by being fair, prepared, and solutions-oriented—especially when issues are high-pressure or contentious.
    • Manages CA scope and effort intentionally—tracking commitments, planned hours, workload, and response times—so BHDP supports the project effectively without uncontrolled effort or missed obligations. Proactively monitors project risks, helps the team navigate cost/schedule impacts, and keeps documentation disciplined to reduce disputes and surprises.
