MyBuilderCPA is hiring a Construction Accounting Manager to support residential construction clients across the United States. This is a remote, client-facing accounting role focused on construction accounting, job costing, financial review, account cleanup, and client communication. The position starts part-time and is expected to grow into a full-time role as client needs increase.

MyBuilderCPA is an accounting firm that works exclusively with residential home builders in the United States. We support clients with bookkeeping, job costing, month-end close, and financial reporting using QuickBooks Online and construction management software such as Buildertrend and JobTread.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of construction clients and serve as a primary point of contact
Lead client meetings, gather information, and identify accounting issues affecting financial accuracy
Review financial statements, job cost reports, and general ledger activity for completeness and accuracy
Identify issues related to job costing, cost coding, and financial organization
Help clean up and stabilize incomplete or disorganized accounting records
Support month-end close and help ensure timely, accurate reporting
Translate client questions and business needs into clear action items for the internal team
Communicate effectively with clients and team members to keep work moving forward
Respond to urgent client questions and help resolve accounting-related issues
Required Qualifications
Experience in construction accounting, including residential, commercial, or subcontractor environments
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online
Understanding of job costing and construction project financial workflows
Ability to review financial data and identify errors, inconsistencies, or process issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Ability to collaborate with a distributed team
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Buildertrend, JobTread, or similar construction software
Experience cleaning up books or taking over disorganized accounting systems
Experience in accounting operations or back-office support for construction companies
CPA, bookkeeping certification, or similar credential
Compensation and Work Structure
40 hours per week

Remote role for candidates located in the United States
Annual compensation of USD $90,000
