    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our construction-based business. The ideal candidate will assist our accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and supporting various accounting tasks. The Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the financial stability and success of our projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Invoice Processing:
    • Receive and review invoices from vendors and subcontractors.
    • Verify the accuracy of invoices, including quantity, price, and terms.
    • Prepare and process invoices for payment in a timely manner.
    1. Expense Tracking:
    • Monitor and record project-related expenses, including materials, labor, and equipment.
    • Reconcile expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
    • Assist in tracking and controlling project budgets.
    1. Accounts Receivable:
    • Generate and send customer AIA pay applications for progressing and completed projects or services.
    • Follow up on outstanding invoices and facilitate timely payments.
    • Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions.
    1. Data Entry and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
    • Input financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
    1. Assist in Month-End Close:
    • Prepare and post journal entries as needed.
    • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
    • Participate in the month-end closing process.
    1. Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
    • Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing financial documents.
    • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting no work experience required or 5 year's experience as an accountant preferably in the construction related industry.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300) and Microsoft Excel and Office.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of construction-specific accounting practices/software is a plus.
