CT FAMILY SEEKING LIVE-IN OR LIVE-OUT NANNY - (COMMUTING DISTANCE ONLY): FULL-TIME WEEKEND-FOCUSED NANNY / FAMILY ASSISTANT - A warm, busy Connecticut family is seeking an experienced, proactive full-time nanny and family assistant for their three children, including an infant. This is a long-term, weekend-focused role with 2 guaranteed off-days for someone who enjoys being actively involved with children and has the judgment and initiative to help a busy household run smoothly. The target start date is early November. The family is open to a live-in arrangement on workdays only, with a private guest bedroom and bathroom, or a live-out arrangement. Candidates must live within commuting distance and be willing to commute occasionally to the city with the family.
The schedule totals roughly 40 to 50 hours per week and includes weekend coverage, early mornings, and some evenings. Hours may vary with school days off, children’s illnesses, and parent work events. On rare occasions, the family may ask for an overnight when an event runs late, with notice and compensation discussed in advance.
This role is both childcare and family support. Childcare duties include age-appropriate activities, outings, reading, and play, managing school and activity transitions, meals and snacks, and safe driving in the family’s dedicated car. Family assistant duties include children’s laundry, tidying the children’s spaces, meal planning, grocery shopping, and preparing nutritious meals. The family wants a true lead who takes ownership of the daily rhythm, thinks a step ahead, and flags needs before they become problems. A housekeeper is on staff, so the nanny will collaborate respectfully with her. Confidence using an epinephrine auto-injector in an emergency is essential.
The ideal candidate has substantial professional nanny experience in private homes, strong infant experience, and experience managing multiple children of different ages. Excellent recent references, a clean driving record, strong safety awareness, and fluent English are required. Candidates must be able to swim and hold current infant and child CPR and first aid certification, and a first responder course is required. Tdap is required. Spanish fluency is strongly preferred. An NDA is required, and the family will complete reference and background checks and arrange a paid, multi-day working trial before a final hiring decision.
Pay is $40-50+/hr gross depending on experience, paid via payroll. Benefits will be discussed based on experience, schedule, and responsibilities.
