The Bowhead Advanced Technology team is seeking a highly skilled Configuration/Data Manager (CM/DM) to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division, Energetic Systems Division, serving as the Deputy Configuration Manager under the direction of the Division’s Configuration Manager located in Indian Head, MD. CONFIGURATION/DATA MANAGER (AT):

 

The Bowhead Advanced Technology team is seeking a highly skilled Configuration/Data Manager (CM/DM) to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division, Energetic Systems Division, serving as the Deputy Configuration Manager under the direction of the Division’s Configuration Manager located in Indian Head, MD. This is a critical technical and operational role supporting life‑cycle engineering, energetic systems development, and cross‑service logistics for Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, NASA, and other government and international partners.

 

The CM/DM will manage configuration identification, control, verification, auditing, and data governance across a diverse portfolio of energetics‑related systems and components. This role ensures accuracy, repeatability, version control, and data integrity across the Division’s technical baseline, engineering artifacts, and product documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Administer configuration management processes for documents, BOMs, models, parts, and engineering changes.
• Maintain Product Data Management (PDM) systems and manage document vaults ensuring full version and access control.
• Lead the migration and maintenance of data within the Integrated Product Database Management system (iPDM).
• Provide technical guidance and training to enterprise teams on data workflows, reporting, dashboards, analytics tools, and automation within iPDM.
• Develop and implement quality data collection, validation, and governance practices.
• Generate configuration status accounting reports and metrics.
• Assess and improve data systems performance and functionality.
• Support transition activities to Model‑Based Product Support (MBPS).
• Review and validate Technical Data Packages (TDPs), ensuring compliant and complete drawings, specifications, software, and firmware.
• Assist with planning, programming, budgeting, resource alignment, annual production goals, and related Division-level initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for internal controls and data handling.

Qualifications:

• Seven (7+) years proven professional experience in configuration or data management roles. BS/BA preferred. 
• Expertise with cross‑system data integration and information flow management.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to interpret and review mechanical drawings, 2D/3D models, and CAD artifacts.
• Strong knowledge of DoW, ASME, and IPC CM/DM standards.
• Attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in technical data validation.
• Experience with database design, information systems, and data administration.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demand:

• • Frequent walking, standing, and moving between workstations in the machine shop environment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials or parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular exposure to noise, dust, and vibrations typical of a machine shop.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching to access materials or equipment.

Target salary range is between $110,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
