Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Configuration Control Specialist at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and performing moderately complex configuration control tasks and other related item master or ECO (Engineering Change Order) coordination activities.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Learns and understands department tools
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability in key performance indicators
  • Applies Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy and exhibits enthusiasm for and a desire to see Garmin succeed
  • Identifies areas of process improvement
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions quickly
  • Working knowledge of the following: Engineering Change Orders, Bills of Material structures, and Product Lifecycle Transitions
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills and proactively seeks to improve their understanding of Garmin’s processes and procedures
  • Participates in projects with direction from management and mentors
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills and works well with team members and internal customers
  • Demonstrates ability to complete well defined tasks and/or projects
  • Able to offer suggestions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
  • Able to determine root cause and develop corrective action plans
  • Prioritizes workload with some assistance and expedites as needed
  • Responsible for assembling and analyzing data, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support multiple segments
  • Works within the team to perform cross-functional job duties to help teammates when needed
  • Works under general supervision
  • Follows established procedures
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Ability to communicate with cross functional teams and customers
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of parts drawings and implementing changes within a quality system by using Agile or similar tool
  • Basic understanding of supply chain, manufacturing processes and Manufacturing Resource Process (MRP)
