PGS Worldwide is seeking a Configuration Analyst in Elkton, Maryland for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support configuration management activities across engineering and manufacturing by coordinating technical documentation, engineering changes, product configuration data, and change-control records throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of ERP, PLM, and MES systems and how they support configuration management and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with configuration data such as part numbers, Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, revisions, and product structures.
- Understanding of engineering change-control concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and other technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for tracking, documentation, and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established configuration-management procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience using SAP or another ERP system.
- Experience using Teamcenter or another PLM system.
- Experience using MES or similar manufacturing shop-floor systems.
- Experience supporting configuration management, product lifecycle management, or manufacturing operations.
- Aerospace, defense, or other regulated-industry experience.
- Experience working with Bills of Material, part structures, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), or Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Knowledge of configuration-management practices including baselines, revisions, and formal change control.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate preparation and maintenance of project and configuration documentation.
- Support engineering drawings, production specifications, schedules, and contract-related documentation.
- Review contract requirements to determine required project documentation.
- Analyze proposed product-design changes for potential impacts to products and systems.
- Establish and maintain engineering change records.
- Prepare change orders and supporting documentation for authorization.
- Review released engineering-change data.
- Coordinate configuration changes with engineering, quality, manufacturing, support, and engineering data-control teams.
- Track configuration data including part numbers, BOMs, routings, revisions, and other product information.
- Help ensure configuration records accurately reflect approved product baselines.
- Support documentation traceability and change-control activities throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

- Full-time onsite in Elkton, Maryland.
- 9/80 work schedule.
