Are you a high-level administrative professional who can keep a secret, manage a chaotic calendar, and still have enough "tact and resourcefulness" to handle a surprise visitor with a smile? Norwood Public Schools is looking for this vital "Right Hand" to support our Superintendent. If you're the kind of person who can keep a district moving forward while maintaining a professional poker face and a sense of humor, we'd love for you to join the team.
The Master of Logistics: You'll manage the Superintendent''s complex schedule, fitting in everything from day-to-day appointments to weekly school visits with precision.
The Data Architect: From tracking teacher licensure and student enrollment to coordinating McKinney-Vento and completing complex state reports, you'll be the master of the district's vital statistics.
The Liaison: You'll serve as a bridge between the Superintendent and everyone else-town government, the School Committee, and the general public-always representing the district with "pleasant" and professional communication.
Safety & Communication Sentinel: You'll monitor emergency correspondence and safety issues, providing the Superintendent with the critical info needed to keep our schools secure.
The Compliance Guardian: You'll oversee the "behind-the-scenes" essentials, including CORIs and Federal Background Checks for all district personnel and volunteers.
Event Extraordinaire: From the annual convocation to staff recognition events, you'll help coordinate the moments that make our district a community.
An associates degree or higher preferred, and extensive, progressively responsible secretarial experience (bonus points if you've survived-and thrived-in a school system before).
Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and ParentSquare preferred.
The ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain strict confidentiality while under pressure.
A "can-do" attitude and the ability to use "resourcefulness and tact" when meeting new situations-handling the unexpected with grace.
See Job Description for other requirements.
Early Bird Opportunity: You can begin your onboarding and training as early as November 2, 2026.
The Official Start: You take the helm officially on December 1, 2026.
Terms: Employment terms are per an individual contract with the Superintendent:
Full Year Position Salary range from $70,000-$87,925 subject to experience.
