Concrete Surface Preparation Specialist – Resinous Flooring Systems

You fire up grinders, check dust-control equipment, and prep materials for a flawless epoxy or resinous coating install. That’s a typical day with Summit Service Solutions.
What you’ll do in a day
- Grind and profile concrete slabs to prepare for epoxy and other industrial coating systems.
- Eliminate ridges, high spots, old coatings, and surface defects to create a uniform substrate.
- Operate hand tools and power equipment for grinding, cutting, drilling, and surface prep tasks.
- Thoroughly clean and condition concrete to promote proper coating adhesion.
- Repair cracks, joints, and surface flaws as needed prior to installation.
- Mix multi-component products and apply according to project specs and manufacturer guidance.
- Spread, level, trowel, and finish flooring materials using both hand tools and power tools.
- Wash, etch, and treat concrete with approved chemicals and cleaning methods.
- Assist with epoxy and other resinous/industrial floor coating applications from start to finish.
- Use industrial vacuums and dust-collection systems during grinding and prep.
- Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.
- Keep the work area organized, clean, and safe at all times.
- Take direction from supervisors and project leads and coordinate with the crew.
- Adhere to OSHA and company safety protocols with a continuous safety-first mindset.
What you bring
- Background in concrete grinding/polishing, epoxy or industrial flooring, surface preparation, or a related construction trade (preferred).
- Confidence using hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work: standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and extended periods of activity.
- Comfort working in commercial and industrial settings.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites across the region.
- Strong attendance, dependability, and teamwork.
- Willingness to learn new equipment, materials, and installation techniques.
Schedule and employment
- First-shift schedule.
- Contract-to-hire opportunity.
Compensation
$20 – $24 per hour, with opportunities to earn prevailing wage on select projects.
Physical and work environment
This is an active construction role with frequent tool operation, lifting/moving materials and equipment, working around dust and noise, and performing duties in commercial and industrial environments.
A reliable means of transportation is required.
