Concrete Project Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW: As the Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of self-performed estimates, project management and procurement for work on our projects specifically focusing on our concrete operations. Assist in levelling bids, identifying opportunities, promoting and delivering services to both company and clients with the goal of managing a successful and self-sustaining concrete group.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

• As the Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of self-performed estimates, project management and procurement for work on our projects specifically focusing on our concrete operations. The group's mission is to deliver white glove service in soft demolition, concrete and final clean and any adjacent scope needed by our teams. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Estimating:

• Manage estimating function to produce detailed estimates that will generate between $3M and $5M in volume per year and grow with comfortable pace to match market opportunity

Client Relationships and Project Management:

• Lead discussions with Project teams to communicate the value our self perform team provides
• Solicit outside clients, provide comprehensive bids and foster relationships driven at repeat work
• Turn estimates into amazing proposals and awards through your knowledge of the industry, our abilities and your ability to communicate that your team can manage and deliver on the risk
• Assist in levelling bids, identifying opportunities, promoting and delivering services to both company and clients with the goal of managing a successful and self-sustaining concrete group
• Develop profitability goals with the Director of Self Perform Work and manage P/L for the projects you estimate
• Collaborate with GF and Superintendents to ensure smooth handoff and execution of the work
• Conduct regular site inspections and generate project performance reports with the community
• Lead teams to produce amazing and repetitive results that lead to well-trained internal concrete experts and excited clients that act as our advocates

Union Labor Relations and Craft Management:

• Stay up to date on union regulations, labor laws, and prevailing wage requirements to ensure compliance during self-performed construction activities
• Manage craft payroll and wage structure

Safety:

• Champion a strong safety culture and enforce adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulations throughout the construction site
• Create, promote and develop a culture of care from the top down. Ensure the estimates include the tools for success and hold the team accountable to standards that exceed the industry norms

Training and Development

• Look for opportunities to further your personal development through internal and external training, professional development meetings and peer groups
• Ensure the staff around you are getting cross trained with basic estimating strategies to create a team culture and build redundancy

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred). If no degree, provide equivalency in years of industry experience directly in the concrete trade
• At least 5-10 years of proven experience in construction estimating operations, field management, or project oversight of concrete
• Familiarity with union labor relations and experience working with trade unions
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and procurements
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders. A social and outgoing personality capable of establishing trust at a high level with Project Management team
• Proficiency in construction software and tools (e.g., Autodesk Products, Microsoft Products, Vista, Bluebeam)
• Valid CA driver's license, ability and willingness to travel to different job sites within Northern California each week
