The Concrete Laborer will perform many tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather. As a concrete laborer you will ensure concrete is poured correctly through accurate placement on-site with various forms needed on the construction site.
Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
- Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete and dismantles forms after
use, using saws, hammers, nails, bolts or form hardware.
- Dig ditches and levels earth to grade specifications, using pick, shovels and rakes.
- Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately.
- Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures.
- Mix concrete and mortar.
- Clean construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
- Assist to align, straighten, plumb and square forms for installation.
- Construct forms, then assist in raising them to the required elevation.
- Install and tie rebar and wire mesh.
- Install handrails.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree.
- 1 + years of concrete or skilled labor experience preferred.
- Experience with concrete form setting or construction is required.
- Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials.
- Proficiency with industry hand and power tools, including saws.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor.
- Basic math skills.
- Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
- Functions essential to this position include but are not limited to standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking and lifting heavy objects (50 pounds) during the workday.
