JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
A Computer Scientist V provides senior-level software and systems engineering services to a variety of projects or customer efforts and has a critical impact on future business and/or existing relationships.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
- Strong experience in C#/.NET geared towards desktop application development.
- Experience in creating highly customized WPF front-end designs, to build and maintain high-performance applications that handle large sets of data to provide a polished, intuitive user experience.
- Works across the full application stack: data ingestion, databases, APIs, processing, business logic, and UI/UX.
- Contributes to modernizing existing tools, improving application performance, and build reusable UI-components.
- Team is embedded directly with active customers.
- Function as a technical lead, technical manager, or system architect of multiple projects at the department level, as directed by management
- Purse new business efforts, lead proposal efforts, and act as a technical consultant
- Direct and provide guidance to technical staff on complex projects
- Direct/participate in planning, design, and implementation of work within functional scope
- Work independently of direct supervision in pursuit of goals defined by management
- Develop the design of system/software and associated design documentation
- Represent the company to customers, co-contractors, competitors, or other elements with JT4
- Implement design through software coding or hardware and document the design implementation
- Maintain high visibility to the customer and JT4 senior management
- Provide or facilitate the synthesis between multiple technical and management disciplines within the company and those provided by coworkers
- Establish and maintain positive customer relations
- Perform other job-related duties, as required
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 years of direct experience with C#, a minimum of 1-2 years of WPF.
- Strong experience with async/await and parallelism.
- Direct experience in ownership of object-oriented designs following SOLID design principles and well-known design patterns.
- Experience with SQL, LINQ, GIT/data repositories expected. Experience optimizing applications for large data sets, updates, virtualization and rendering.
- Experience in government, defense, engineering, aerospace, data analysis or scientific environments are a bonus.
- Hands-on experience visualizing data using LightningCharts software is a bonus.
REQUIREMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
One of the following educational requirements must be met for this position:
- A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of fourteen years of related experience
- A master's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of ten years of experience
- A PhD in an associated discipline and a minimum of eight years of experience
In addition, a Computer Scientist V must possess the following qualifications:
- Comfortable working both independently and collaborating with technical and non-technical users directly.
- Demonstrated expertise with computer-based systems and applications
- Senior-level programing skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasks
- Senior-level expertise in the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques
- Extensive knowledge of systems engineering and software development lifecycles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning/organizational skills
- Ability to work under deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
