SURESTAFF is immediately hiring for a Computer Repair Technicians for our client’s electronic manufacturing plant in Irving, TX. The Position will entail standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 30lbs throughout shift. Successful applicants will be very detail-oriented and able to work with little supervision. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Responsibilities of the Repair Technician:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and basic software issues on laptops and desktop computers.
- Perform repairs on computer systems by replacing defective or damaged components.
- Disassemble and reassemble laptops and desktops safely and efficiently.
- Replace and install RAM, SSDs, hard drives, batteries, keyboards, LCD screens, motherboards, cooling fans, wireless cards, and other internal components.
- Perform BIOS updates, firmware updates, and operating system installations when required.
- Troubleshoot power, charging, display, storage, networking, and performance-related issues.
- Utilize diagnostic software and testing equipment to identify and verify hardware failures.
- Conduct post-repair functional testing to ensure equipment meets quality standards.
- Verify all ports, cameras, speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, keyboards, touchpads, and displays are fully operational.
- Document repairs, parts replaced, and testing results in the inventory or tracking system.
- Maintain accurate repair records and communicate recurring defects to supervisors.
- Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures and company safety standards.
- Maintain an organized workstation and properly manage repair tools and replacement parts.
- Meet daily productivity and quality goals in a production-driven environment.
- Assist with inventory counts, part identification, and other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with technicians, quality inspectors, and supervisors to resolve technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications of the Repair Technician :
- Previous experience repairing laptops, desktops, or other electronic devices required.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience replacing internal computer components and performing hardware upgrades.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic software troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and follow repair procedures and technical documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, diagnostic software, and testing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
