Position Summary
Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is a New York State Agency and is seeking a detail-oriented Computer Operator to join their Nursing Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing data processing equipment, preparing technical data, and ensuring document accuracy within the department.
This is a fast-paced role requiring high reliability, punctuality, and the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities
Data & System Operations: Monitor and control electronic computer and peripheral electronic data processing equipment to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to specific operating instructions.
Document Production: Follow and understand instructions for the development of final copy materials on specialized word processing and computer equipment.
Quality Assurance: Proofread and correct documents to maintain high professional standards.
Reporting & Visuals: May develop graphs, spreadsheets, charts, and web pages to support department data tracking.
Minimum Qualifications
Core Competencies: Must have comprehensive knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of standard Office Suite software packages with a demonstrated ability to learn new software and systems within a reasonable timeframe.
