Role Overview

The Computer Operations Manager leads and coordinates daily technical operations, IT service delivery, and support staff across multi-platform enterprise environments. This role is responsible for ensuring operational support coverage, maintaining adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), managing system performance, and overseeing IT asset lifecycles. Additionally, the position provides advanced computer, user, network, and telephony support while directing continuous improvement, compliance, and disaster recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate technical team activities, including workload organization, project scheduling, system monitoring, and incident response.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, project leaders, and technical staff, conducting performance evaluations, training, and succession planning.

Oversee the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of IT assets, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and servers.

Develop, implement, and maintain IT service management processes across incident, problem, change, and request management frameworks.

Coordinate and support enterprise-wide software rollouts, system updates, and patch management initiatives.

Monitor service desk queue and system performance to ensure timely issue resolution and high customer satisfaction.

Provide advanced hardware, software, network, and telephony technical support, documenting all resolutions and technical solutions.

Ensure strict compliance with operational standards, internal policies, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to integrate new technologies and contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Travel to remote locations to resolve technical issues and deploy IT resources.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on IT work experience with exposure to multi-platform environments.

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or technical institute degree/certificate) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Technical Expertise: Demonstrated background in IT service delivery, asset management, advanced troubleshooting, network support, and enterprise software deployments.

Leadership & Core Competencies: Strong initiative, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, customer service, and team-building skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks including climbing ladders, squatting, stooping, pushing, crawling, and bending in all types of weather.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with flexibility required between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM (either on a rotation or as part of a regular/on-call schedule).

Travel Expectations: Requires 25% to 40% travel between operational sites.
