Traveler Policy: Anyone with a permanent address within a 35 mile radius of facility is considered a local traveler.
Weekend Requirements: every other weekend

Coordinates and participates in all computerized tomography scanning procedures. Sets up, monitors and operates complex computerized equipment for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
Sets up and monitors computer operation of C.T. equipment per patient. Transfers and positions patients utilizing accepted standards of safety and proper lifting techniques. Applies immobilization devices as necessary.
Provides required patient identification. Obtains vital information from patients concerning known allergies and pertinent medical history.
Properly prepares and injects contrast media intravenously into appropriate patients as needed for examination to be performed as protocol led by Radiologist.
Makes and develops images for permanent file of each patient. Records all studies on magnetic tape for future reference.
Organizes daily patient schedule in cooperation with work-room technician.
Maintains image quality following department guidelines. Daily calibration and quality control of equipment following department guidelines. Assures proper repair of equipment is performed, follows MRMC protocols for imaging procedures.
Responsible for electronic/digital image capture, storage, transfer, and copy.
Monitors patients for allergic reaction and takes proper action as needed. Assist with emergency medical situations, including providing basic CPR.
Provides protection to self and patients in accordance with current prescribed safety standards and regulations as set forth by the Michigan Department of Public Health.
Maintains cleanliness of working environment. Assures supplies are maintained within department inventory levels.
Instructs new personnel as needed.
Assists Radiologists and other physician specialists in performance of specialized radiological procedures with level of skill consistent with department standards.
Reviews and records pertinent patient history and supportive clinical data to aid Radiologist in diagnosis of patient.
Maintains Registry in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
