Job Title: Compute Technology Marketing Sr. Director
Location: San Jose, CA
We are seeking an experienced Technology Marketing Sr. Director to lead our
Technical marketing strategy, market intelligence and competitive analysis, for
compute platforms. This role will be pivotal in shaping our product narrative
and influencing product direction based on deep workload understanding,
market insights and competitive understanding.
Job Descriptions
Drive workload analysis programs (e.g., for Agentic AI) to support silicon
product planning, articulating their impact and implications for system
architecture from a market and competitive perspective. This involves
understanding how future roadmap features or system capabilities,
particularly those enabled by next-gen hardware (e.g., advanced power
management, on-device LLMs running on xPU, new I/O features), can be
leveraged for market advantage.
Lead market intelligence and competitive strategy for our compute platforms,
focusing on workload-driven differentiators and emerging industry trends
Lead Competitive Benchmarking Program Management partnering with
internal and external engineering labs to directly support product marketing
and sales teams in positioning our offerings against competitors.
Develop and maintain an "always-live" tech and IP marketing deck, serving as
a comprehensive and up-to-date resource for internal and external
communication of our technical value proposition and intellectual property
Proactively monitor the competitive landscape, including roadmaps, detailed
technology comparisons, and cost analyses, to identify market opportunities
and potential threats.
Collaborate closely with internal hardware architects, SoC software teams,
and product teams to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling,
market-facing narratives.
Interact with external partners (OS vendors, IP partners, OEMs) to gather
market insights, understand use-case requirements, and influence our
technology strategic priorities.
Serve as the product level authority on competitive technology and market
trends within the compute platform space.
Requirements
BS / MS / or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related
technical field.
15+ years of experience in product marketing, technical product management,
competitive intelligence, or technology strategy roles within the client/compute
platform industry (e.g., Intel, AMD, Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia).
Strong ability to engage in technical discussions with experts on areas such
as memory subsystems, interconnects, I/O subsystems (PCIe, USB,
display/graphics interfaces), and power/thermal constraints, and to
understand their market implications.
Demonstrated experience in defining market requirements and
communicating technical value propositions for complex compute systems.
Capability to guide teams on competitive analysis, market sizing, and
technology trend identification
Excellent cross-functional communication and presentation skills to influence
senior executive teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners on
technology direction and strategy.
Openness and patience to work with geographically dispersed teams with
diverse backgrounds.
Based in San Jose, with a willingness to support up to 25% international
travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience at a CPU or compute platform company (e.g., AMD,
Intel, Apple, Arm, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, etc.) in a senior product marketing,
competitive intelligence, or technical product management role.
Experience working with multiple OS ecosystems (e.g., Windows + Linux +
ChromeOS) from a market positioning perspective.
Experience mentoring or leading technology marketing or competitive
intelligence teams
