PURPOSE OF JOB
As a Pharmacy Technician in our compounding lab, you’ll play a key role in preparing safe, high-quality sterile and non-sterile medications for patients who depend on them. Working closely with our pharmacists, you’ll handle everything from compounding and labeling to inventory and documentation, all while keeping quality and compliance front and center. JOB DUTIES
Compound sterile and non-sterile medications according to prescriptions, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare, package, and label compounded medications.
Perform pharmaceutical calculations and formula preparation.
Assist with bulk compound production based on inventory and patient demand.
Maintain cleanroom and laboratory standards, including required documentation and environmental cleaning.
Manage inventory, chemicals, and medication stock levels.
Process prescriptions, order entry, billing, and pharmacy documentation.
Communicate with patients, providers, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
Maintain compliance with USP, state, and federal regulations.
Other job duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT); sterile certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Sterile compounding experience strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to learn and apply complex pharmaceutical concepts.
Experience with pharmacy software and Microsoft Office applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate documents and papers.
Occasional bending, stooping, and stretching.
