Compensation
- Pay Rate: $18.61/hr
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Lunch: 30 minutes
Position Summary
The Compounding Operator is responsible for producing high-quality resin products that meet strict specifications. This role involves precise material mixing, machine operation, quality inspection, and accurate data entry into ERP and quality systems. This is a hands-on, physically active role requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Processing
- Manufacture resin batches using detailed formulations and mix sheets, including pre-blending materials
- Load ribbon blenders and drum tumblers with precise ingredient quantities
- Operate, start up, shut down, and maintain 40mm and 60mm compounder lines and water systems
- Weigh, package, and label finished products according to work order specifications
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine maintenance on compounders, pelletizers, dryers, and water systems
- Disassemble compounders for screen changes and cleaning
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Operate and maintain all associated production equipment
Quality Control & Documentation
- Sample compounds and mold ASTM slabs per work order requirements
- Inspect finished products for defects and initiate corrective actions
- Enter production and quality data into CMPC and ERP systems
- Assist in training team members on proper procedures and techniques
- Communicate effectively with other shifts regarding production status and equipment
Safety & General Duties
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes)
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately
- Complete all required documentation (time reporting, work orders, inventory tickets, etc.)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail
- Experience with manufacturing documentation and reporting
- Preferred:
- Experience operating compounders or similar industrial equipment
- Injection molding experience
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification
- Must be comfortable with a physically demanding role involving standing, bending, and material handling
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
- Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs using proper techniques
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/production setting
- Exposure to loud noise levels and varying temperatures
- Exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals depending on work area
- Required use of PPE at all times
