POSITION SUMMARY GoGoMeds Select is a fast-growing compounding pharmacy focused on producing high-quality customized medications for patients. The Compounding Lead will guide and support production technician team members responsible for manufacturing a variety of compounded medications, including sterile injectable vials, capsules, creams, gels, and other dosage forms. This individual will drive safe, compliant, accurate, and efficient production while building a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced compounding professional who enjoys working directly with production teams and wants to grow with a rapidly expanding pharmacy operation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Production Leadership Lead day-to-day 2nd shift sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. Coordinate production activities to achieve daily patient-order fulfillment needs. Assign work and balance staffing across sterile and non-sterile production areas based on priorities, workload and training. Provide hands-on leadership and direction to compounding technicians and production personnel. Monitor production throughout the shift and proactively address bottlenecks, delays, staffing challenges, and quality concerns. Ensure accurate and timely completion of production batches and patient-specific preparations. Coordinate shift priorities with pharmacy, quality, fulfillment, inventory, and other operational teams. Communicate production status, issues, and outstanding work through effective shift handoffs. Sterile & Non-Sterile Compounding Support production of compounded dosage forms including sterile injectable vials, capsules, creams, gels, solutions, suspensions, and other patient-specific compounded preparations. Ensure compounding personnel follow approved formulations, master formulation records, batch records, procedures, and work instructions. Reinforce proper compounding techniques, calculations, measurements, weighing, mixing, filling, and documentation. Ensure appropriate gowning, aseptic technique, cleaning, and controlled-environment practices are consistently followed within sterile production areas. Quality & Compliance Promote a strong quality-first and patient-safety culture throughout the shift. Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with applicable pharmacy regulations, company procedures, and relevant USP <795> and USP <797> requirements. Verify required production documentation is complete, accurate, legible, and completed in real time. Identify and escalate deviations, equipment issues, environmental concerns, and potential quality events. Support investigations, corrective actions, and process improvements when production or quality issues occur. Ensure equipment, workspaces, and production areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and inspection-ready condition. Team Leadership & Development Serve as the primary frontline leader for 2nd shift compounding personnel. Coach, and develop team members on compounding processes, SOPs, equipment, quality requirements, and production expectations. Reinforce team member accountability for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and performance expectations. Provide real-time coaching and feedback to improve individual and team performance. Help onboard and qualify new compounding team members. Promote teamwork between sterile, non-sterile, pharmacy, quality, and fulfillment operations. Create an environment where employees are encouraged to identify problems and recommend improvements. Operational Excellence Track shift performance against production schedules and key operational metrics. Identify opportunities to improve throughput, workflow, labor utilization, quality, and overall productivity. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing errors, rework, waste, and production delays. Support equipment troubleshooting and escalate maintenance needs when appropriate. Assist leadership with workforce planning, scheduling, production planning, and capacity management. QUALIFICATIONS Required High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in pharmacy compounding, pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare production, or a similar regulated environment. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, or coordinate production teams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and product quality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working a 2nd shift schedule and providing hands-on leadership on the production floor. Preferred Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or applicable state pharmacy technician registration/licensure. Experience with sterile and/or non-sterile compounding. Knowledge of USP <795>, USP <797>, aseptic processing, and pharmacy quality systems. Previous Lead, Senior Technician, Supervisor, Manager or other frontline leadership experience. Experience with high-volume compounding or pharmaceutical production environments. Experience with Lean, continuous improvement, standard work, or production performance management. PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand and work in production environments for extended periods. Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and fine motor skills. Ability to lift and move materials consistent with pharmacy production responsibilities. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and sterile garb when working in controlled compounding environments.
