    is currently seeking a Composites Production Tool Builder for our client Northrop Grumman.

    Job Description

    The Composites Production Tool Builder will read and interpret blueprints, lay out articles, cut parts or materials to size, and apply liquid or solid bonding agents in a manufacturing/production environment. Duties include operating autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles, controlling heat, pressure, and timing conditions according to material specifications. This role requires sanding, burring, and smoothing areas, applying sealing resins to cut or exposed edges, monitoring and verifying quality of finished products, and completing repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products.

    Responsibilities

    • Operating autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles • Controlling heat, pressure, and timing conditions according to material specifications • Sanding, burring, and smoothing areas • Applying sealing resins to cut or exposed edges • Monitoring and verifying quality of finished products • Completing repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products

    Requirements

    Experience: High School diploma or GED with at least 4 years of relatable composite fabrication or bonding experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work, including lifting over 25 lbs • Working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, kneeling, bending, stooping, and carrying tools • Ability to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment • Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends

    Training and Certifications

    • Must successfully complete and pass ASTAR New Hire Training and Compliance

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • Experience with high-temperature composite materials, including BMI and Polyimide • Experience with structural subassemblies, including bonding, co-bonding, core bonding, and bagging
