Composite Kitting CNC Operator and Autoclave Support

About the Role

Join our Lay-up/Kitting cell on third shift to turn engineering intent into precise composite kits. You will run a CNC cutting table, keep time/temperature-sensitive materials compliant and organized, and provide certified backup coverage on the autoclave.

A Day in the Life

• Start your shift by reviewing job travelers and planning floor space for incoming deliveries.
• Set up and operate the CNC cutting machine to create accurate material kits for active orders.
• Hand-cut materials when required to meet specifications or expedite short-turn requests.
• Label materials, complete travelers, and enter data accurately into Epicor and Excel.
• Use Epicor data to manage freezer inventory and control Time and/or Temperature Sensitive (TATS) materials.
• Verify expiration and cure dates, communicating short lead times to the lay-up cell.
• Leverage TATS trackers and dashboards to maintain 100% lot traceability and kit availability.
• Monitor daily stock levels of materials and adhesives; coordinate with Purchasing for timely replenishment.
• Collaborate with Engineering to program and validate new kits on the cutting machine.
• Assist the Cell Leader with scheduling jobs on the cutting machines to meet demand.
• Obtain and maintain certification to operate the autoclave for secondary coverage.

How You’ll Contribute

• Work safely with a goal of zero injuries.
• Keep the work area orderly; complete preventive maintenance and end-of-shift cleanup per standard procedures.
• Finish all paperwork and system entries completely and on time.
• Engage in continuous improvement within the cell and across the company.
• Raise issues promptly to your manager or the appropriate contact.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules; perform other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience; prior use of measuring/cutting tools and knowledge of inventory control is a plus.
• Comfort with computer hardware and job-related software; able to set up programs, enter data, and generate reports (Epicor and Excel experience beneficial).
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Solid basic math skills; able to read a ruler and tape measure.
• Clear, courteous verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal technical instructions.
• Excellent organization, planning, time management, and attention to detail.
• Calm, professional approach to high workload and shifting schedules.
• Team-oriented collaborator who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with and adherence to employment, job-specific, environmental, health, safety, and quality procedures.

Schedule and Physical Requirements

• Third-shift role; overtime may include coverage on other shifts and weekends as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed and to stoop, kneel, reach, bend, stand, and walk throughout the shift.
