Composite Fabrication Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking Composite Fabrication Technicians in Phoenix, Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will fabricate and assemble composite components and armor panel assemblies using materials such as fiberglass, epoxy, plastics, ceramics, foams, and alloys. Technicians will perform cutting, trimming, grinding, bonding, measuring, and material-preparation activities while following detailed work instructions and established quality standards.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a production assembly environment, technical schooling in a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Experience using basic hand tools and pneumatic or electric power tools.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, work orders, templates, and shop illustrations.
• Ability to accurately measure materials using scales, calipers, and similar measuring instruments.
• Ability to use both hands to manipulate, handle, and assemble composite components.
• Ability to perform repetitive fabrication and assembly work while maintaining required quality standards.
• Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts.
• Ability to move, pull, lift, and horizontally transfer materials weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to pass a respirator physical and wear required respiratory protection.
• Ability to safely work with release agents, sealants, solvents, adhesives, and resins.

What You'll Do

• Fabricate composite subassemblies and armor panel assemblies.
• Work with fiberglass, epoxy, plastics, ceramics, alloys, foam, and laminated materials.
• Cut, trim, grind, bond, and assemble materials according to work-order requirements.
• Apply and mix release agents, sealants, solvents, adhesives, and resins.
• Use hand tools and pneumatic or electric power tools during fabrication.
• Measure materials and completed components using scales, calipers, and other inspection tools.
• Support aircraft seat-cushion component assembly involving bonding, cutting, and grinding.
• Follow detailed shop instructions, templates, and illustrations.
• Maintain accuracy and quality while working in a moderate- to fast-paced production environment.
• Follow all established safety policies and procedures.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Full-time onsite in Phoenix, Arizona.
• Monday Thursday, 5:00 AM 3:30 PM.
• 4/40 schedule.

Pay

• $20.00 per hour.
• Overtime may be available.
