Responsibilities:

In this role the Component Specialist will perform the following job duties:

• Manufacture and label blood and blood components
• Perform routine laboratory clerical procedures and accessions
• Distribute and prepare specimens for analysis
• Dispense blood products
• Monitor and maintain blood component inventory
• Order and restock supplies

Qualifications:

Education

Required: High School graduate or equivalent

Experience:

Required: Minimum 3 months full-time experience processing samples using laboratory equipment

Preferred: Clinical or hospital-based experience. Previous computer operational skills using a personal computer, laboratory system or other hospital information system.
