Component Development Technician

Payrate: $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
 
Summary:
This role directly supports the Electrification initiative by providing test engineer support for small internal components such as PCBs and current sensors, as well as full power inverters and DC-DC converters. The position ensures components are ready for builds and production, contributing to machine success.
 
Responsibilities

• Ensure lab safety and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Execute and complete tests.
• Acquire necessary parts and materials.
• Manage shipping and material flow in lab areas.
• Plan, set up, instrument, run, teardown, document, and share test results.
• Coordinate and monitor environmental testing (thermal cycle, vibration, etc.).
• Support test engineers by being present for testing above 50V.
• Interact with test engineers, lab technicians, facility personnel, and other support staff.

 
Qualifications

• 5-7 years of combined academic or industry experience.
• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• Open to candidates with a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 1 year of experience.
• Previous experience with high voltage testing preferred.
• Experience with safe job procedures and standard test procedures.
• Experience with product development/NPI process.

 
Skills

• Proficient use of both hand and power tools.
• General computer proficiency.
• Experience with electrical harnesses and fluid connections.

• Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Experience with electric drive systems and/or components.
• Previous product development experience (setup, test, or instrumentation).
• Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use build/update instructions to complete tasks.

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $28.00 - $30.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
