Job Title: Compliance Program Manager
Company: AISIN World Corp. of America
Department: General Administration, Legal Affairs Department
Location: Northville, MI
Position Summary
AISIN World Corp. of America ("AWA"), a global Tier-1 automotive supplier, is seeking a Compliance Program Manager to join our Legal Affairs Department.
This position brings the compliance program to the people who do the work. You will build and deliver compliance training, roll out new policies across more than 30 companies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and promote the program so more than 15,000 team members understand the standards, why they matter, and how to raise a concern.
The successful candidate brings at least five years of compliance experience and communicates equally effectively on the plant floor and in the executive suite. You are organized, you follow through, and you can analyze program data and explain what it means.
A law degree is not required, though an attorney would be well suited to this role. Our attorneys handle legal advice, legal risk, the compliance hotline, and investigations. Your focus is to build the program, operate it, and establish it across our plants and offices.
The position requires approximately 25% travel to our sites in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. We welcome candidates who want to grow into a global compliance leadership role.
Position Responsibilities
The Compliance Program Manager is expected to perform the following three core functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
Compliance Program Ownership and Network Leadership

Lead the network of Compliance Officers and Compliance Managers at each company. They do not report to you. You lead them through trust, clear standards, and follow-up.

Visit plants and offices to see how the program is working. Meet with local leaders and team members, and share your observations with Legal Affairs.
Work with the Japan headquarters compliance team. This includes weekly calls on the status of compliance activities and promoting compliance materials.
Some calls may be late at night or early in the morning.
Report program status and results to the General Counsel, Senior Counsel, senior management, and Japan headquarters management. Reporting is ongoing and driven by need, not only on a fixed schedule.
Write the annual compliance program report and recommend the program priorities for the next fiscal year.
Training, Communication, and Culture

Other compliance topics identified for the year
Executive, management, and Compliance Officer training
Plan and track training across all locations and employee groups, and drive completion to the annual target.
Build compliance campaigns and materials that work for a plant floor audience. This includes posters, short messages, and site events.
Have all materials translated into Spanish and Japanese. Check the translations before they go out.
Speak to senior leaders, HR groups, company compliance meetings, and Japan headquarters as the region's expert on the compliance program.
Run the annual compliance survey from start to finish. Study the results and present what you found and what to do about it to Legal Affairs and senior management.
Policy Rollout and Program Support
Maintain the regional compliance policy library.
Work with each company to put the regional policies in place and track them through to completion.
Roll out approved policies and procedures across the company. Legal Affairs writes the policies. You take them to the organizations and ensure adoption.
