Summary of Position:
The Compliance and Privacy Intern is a part-time position working twenty (20) hours per week.
This position will support the Compliance & Privacy team in ensuring organizational adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This internship provides hands-on experience in healthcare compliance, risk management, privacy operations, and governance processes within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment.
The intern will gain exposure to real-world compliance activities, including audits, risk assessments, board reporting, and operational support, while working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with compliance and privacy administrative functions and daily operations
- Support preparation of Board of Directors presentations, including PowerPoint slide development
- Participate in auditing activities and documentation review
- Assist in conducting and documenting risk assessments
- Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and take detailed meeting minutes
- Support development of risk and quality reports for leadership review
- Assist with facility site surveys and compliance monitoring activities
- Help maintain compliance documentation and tracking tools
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and process improvements

Qualifications:
Basic Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be actively enrolled in a Health Information Systems program at an accredited college.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Work Environment:
