    In this role, you will support Premier Health's Corporate Compliance department through auditing, monitoring, education, policy development, and issue resolution related to HIPAA/Privacy matters.     • Provide support and analysis for the auditing and monitoring program within the Premier Health Corporate Compliance department
    • Conduct routine audits, risk assessments, and monitoring activities related to the use and disclosure of protected health information (PHI)
    • Monitor compliance with HIPAA Privacy Rule requirements and organizational privacy policies
    • Analyze regulatory requirements and assist in implementing privacy-related controls and process improvements
    • Assist with breach assessments, reportable breach reporting and patient notification preparation
    • Retrieve required records from the electronic medical record, complete audits and investigations, and produce written summaries
    • Educate and provide guidance to the Premier Health workforce regarding compliance, privacy, and information security
    • Conduct employee orientation and training, and develop or update educational materials as needed
    • Investigate compliance, privacy, and information security concerns across Premier Health and assist in resolving issues
    • Research and prepare written analysis of guidelines to support the Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, Information Security Officer, hospital departments, and Premier Health affiliates
    • Generate quarterly and year-end reports summarizing compliance, privacy, and information security incidents, project updates, and trends
    • Collaborate with the workforce and business partners to ensure understanding of and adherence to compliance, privacy, and information security guidance, policies, and procedures
    • Work with the compliance leadership team to strengthen compliance, privacy, and information security practices
    • Identify opportunities to improve adherence to government rules and regulations through behavior and process change
    • Participate in committee activities as needed
    • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the mission and values of the organization

    Note: Hybrid work environment: Candidates must be willing to commute and work "in-person" occasionally at the Dayton, Ohio area offices

    • Bachelor's degree required

    • Degree in Health Information Technology, Business, or a related field required

    • Years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education

    • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification preferred

    • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC or CHPC) credential required within three years of employment

    • No prior job-related work experience required

    • Healthcare HIPAA/Privacy experience preferred for target candidate audience

    • Experience with electronic medical records preferred

    • Experience researching federal and state rules and regulations preferred

    • Experience independently creating presentation materials preferred

    • Knowledge of audit and compliance practices

    • Knowledge of IT operations, HIPAA Privacy and Security, and HITECH regulations

    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft tools and applications

    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and governmental staff

    • Strong judgment, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work and think independently

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
