Job Description:

Role: Compensation Analyst

Rate: 35-40/hr W2

Location: Onsite in Houston, TX (77024)

Contract Duration: 3+ Months

Role Overview

  • This role is tactical and analytical in nature, rather than consultative. The position focuses on executing core compensation processes and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Healthcare experience: Preferred, not required
  • Focus: Market data analysis, job pricing, and compensation program support

Key Responsibilities

  • Pull and analyze compensation market data
  • Complete and submit salary surveys
  • Conduct job pricing and evaluation
  • Support market comparisons and benchmarking analysis
  • Work within compensation systems and software tools

Minimum Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Compensation or a related field

Skills

  • Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Conflict resolution skills

Core Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Compensation Analysis & Administration

  • Analyze jobs and prepare standardized job descriptions
  • Evaluate roles using established job evaluation systems and determine pay grades
  • Audit job evaluations and ensure consistent classification application
  • Review pay rate changes for compliance with internal policies

Market Data & Benchmarking

  • Participate in third-party compensation surveys
  • Analyze survey data and market trends
  • Support salary planning and budget recommendations

Program Support

  • Assist in administering performance and merit programs
  • Develop and document compensation procedures and processes
  • Interpret and communicate compensation policies and guidelines

Stakeholder Support

  • Consult with employees, managers, and team members on compensation-related questions
  • Investigate and resolve compensation issues or concerns
  • Respond promptly to internal inquiries

Operational Support

  • Conduct research and analysis to support compensation decisions
  • Facilitate meetings, discussions, or related events
  • Maintain compensation records and documentation

Organizational Expectations

  • Ensure safe and compliant practices for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Support productivity, quality, and budgetary goals
  • Promote professional development and continuous learning
  • Serve as a mentor/resource to less experienced team members
