SUBJECT: 21ST Century After-School Teaching Positions for the 2026-2027 School Year (Angelo, Baker, Brookfield, Downey, Ashfield, East and South)
These positions are contingent upon funding and adequate enrollment. The purpose of 21st CCLC grant programming is to support the implementation of additional learning time through out-of-school time (OST) programming. Programming is designed to help close proficiency/opportunity gaps, increase student engagement, support social and emotional learning, and promote college and career readiness and success.
Teachers will be asked to use their creativity and passions to present curriculum units grounded in project-based learning that support the 3 Focus Areas adopted by the district (Effective Instruction, Active Reading and Writing, and Positive Relationships). Teachers will receive up to 5 hours of paid prep time before the program begins and an additional 15 minutes of paid prep time per class.
Possible program units include, but are not limited to: Yoga/Meditation, Mindfulness, STEM Clubs, Aerobics, Fitness and Nutrition, Book Club, Story Hour, Poetry Slam, Photography (using cell phones), Comic Books on the Web, Scrapbooking on the Web, Painting/Drawing, Kids Who Code, Lego Club, Get Creative with Crayola, Be Internet Awesome, Drama, Rube Goldberg's Machines, Breakout/Escape Rooms, Make your own Aquarium, SPARK and Dash & Dot Robotics.
