Community Program Manager (Contract)
Contingent Worker, Individual Contributor, Community team
About the role
Anthropic's Community team builds and runs the programs that connect our most engaged users, developers, and enterprise practitioners with each other and with the people building Claude. We're looking for a community programs generalist who can support any and all of that work: building the systems that let programs scale, running them day to day, managing our presence in the online spaces where our community gathers, working directly with members, and turning those members into a reliable source of product feedback.
On the programs side, you'll run the machinery of our member programs, including applications, onboarding, communications, recognition, and the spaces where members gather, and you'll build the processes, tooling, and documentation that let those programs grow without losing quality. On the online community side, you'll help manage our presence on platforms like Discord and Reddit, keeping conversation healthy, surfacing what members are saying, and making sure people who show up there get a real response. On the product side, you'll help stand up a structured feedback motion that connects product teams who need real-world signal with the power users who can provide it, designing lightweight feedback cycles, recruiting the right members for the right questions, and synthesizing what they tell us into readouts product teams can act on.
All of this depends on relationships as much as systems. Much of the job is interfacing with the people in our programs: knowing who they are, what they're working on, and what they need from us, and representing their voice back into Anthropic. Where you spend your time will shift as programs and product needs evolve, and you may end up going deep on any of these areas. What stays constant is bringing structure to work that is currently coordinated ad hoc, and showing that a well-run community can shape what we ship.
Key responsibilities
- Run the day-to-day operations of our community member programs, including applications, onboarding, member communications, recognition, and engagement in program spaces
- Build and maintain the processes, tooling, automation, and documentation that let programs scale, from intake and tracking systems to playbooks others can run
- Build direct relationships with program members, understand what they're working on and what they need, and act as their advocate internally
- Stand up and operate structured product feedback motions, from quick directional questions to broader feature testing and small, hand-recruited deep-dive groups
- Recruit and match community members to product feedback opportunities based on criteria product teams define
- Design and run feedback collection (forms, discussion threads, live sessions) and synthesize results into concise readouts for product teams
- Partner with product, research, and marketing teams to intake feedback requests, set expectations, and close the loop with members on what was actioned
- Track program health and feedback impact, reporting on participation, throughput, and outcomes
- Help manage our presence in online community spaces such as Discord and Reddit, including moderation, member engagement, and surfacing notable discussion and sentiment to internal teams
- Moderate with good judgment, modeling the culture we want and handling sensitive situations thoughtfully
- Identify what's working and what isn't across programs and propose improvements
Minimum qualifications
- Experience managing a developer community program or an enterprise/B2B customer community program (for example ambassador, advocate, champion, or MVP programs), including member operations and communications
- Experience building operational systems for a community or customer program, such as intake workflows, member tracking, and documentation that others can run
- Experience running structured feedback, beta, or user testing cycles with external participants
- Experience managing or moderating an online community on a platform like Discord, Reddit, Slack, or a forum
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize qualitative input into clear, decision-ready summaries
- Hands-on experience with community and collaboration tooling (for example moderation and bot tools, survey or form tools, and spreadsheets or lightweight databases)
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building processes where none exist
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with both developer and enterprise community programs
- Experience working directly with product or research teams to route user feedback into roadmaps
- Familiarity with confidentiality and early-access program management, including NDAs and trusted-tester cohorts
- Enough technical fluency to use Claude and similar tools in your own work, including to automate parts of your own operations
- Experience building community programs from early stages through meaningful growth
- Interest in Anthropic's mission to develop AI that is safe and beneficial
