Duties & Responsibilities:
- Clinical Supervision and Mentorship. Be able to provide hands on guidance to dental students and residents during patient examinations, and treatment planning in the simulation lab and the clinic.
- Patient care. Provide a full range of general dentistry to include restorative, preventive, oral surgery, prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Curriculum delivery. Develop and deliver lectures, seminars and laboratory sessions on foundational and advanced topics in general dentistry.
- Evaluation & Assessment. Grade clinical competencies, practical assessments and examinations while providing constructive feedback to students and faculty.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- DDS or DMD Degree from a CODA accredited USA Dental School and an (AEGD) Advanced Education in General Dentistry or a (GPR) General Practice Residency
- A current unrestricted Virgina State Dental License.
- Minimum 15 yrs of clinical practice experience in general dentistry
- Strong communication and team leadership skills, a commitment to academic dentistry
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
