BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Principal or designee, inform and involve parents, students, and provide opportunities to site-based or community services in order to enable children to obtain maximum benefit from the educational program. Serve as a liaison between the Student Study Team, Health Clerk, School/Staff Secretary II, Child Welfare and Attendance and other school and community agencies. Keeps regular meetings, schedules and conducts informational meetings and provides guidance to families on how to assist students with reaching their academic and social goals.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and application of: District policies, procedures and regulations, computer hardware and software programs and other office equipment necessary to perform duties, procedures and record-keeping systems, correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, general principals of child development, interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability to:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: AA or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Bilingual language (Spanish) proficiency desired.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Student Support Services or Social Work or the equivalent in an educational setting.
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license and maintain the minimum state vehicle insurance.
