The City of Hillsboros Special Events team in Parks & Recreation is seeking a Special Events Program and Facility Lead! This is an exciting opportunity to engage with the public at special events in our community. This role supports ongoing community activities such as the Hillsboro Farmers Market, Hillsboro Tuesday Night Market, OrenKoFest, the Winter Village Ice Skating Rink, and others. In this role youll be able to connect with community members that are engaged with Hillsboro, and experience first hand how we make fun happen!

The principal function of an employee in this class is to provide facility wide and lead worker support of the facility or program area. This position is distinguished from the Program and Facility Attendant in that it has the added responsibility of lead work over the facility's and/or program's staff.

Acceptable Experience and Training
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and two years of related experience with one year of lead worker experience preferred; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Bilingual Incentive Pay Available
Employees who can demonstrate the ability to speak Spanish, ASL, or any other language spoken by over 10% of the City residents as documented by the most recent U.S. Census, will receive a monthly 3% premium pay. The incentive is only paid on hours in paid status. Proficiency will be determined by a City-administered test.

This position will require the set up and tear down of special events equipment such as canopy tents, tables, chairs, spider boxes (larger power supply boxes) and other similar equipment. Do you understand these working conditions?
