Arrive is a nonprofit organization founded in 1991 with support from the City of Portland, local banks, and a concerned community. We were founded to ensure all Portland residents have equal access to information and resources to achieve homeownership. Today, we serve the 5-county Portland metro area and provide financial services across the state of Oregon. We specialize in providing first time homebuyers with education, counseling, financial resources, and other homebuying support. We are in search of a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator develops and executes Arrive's community outreach strategy, with a focus on increasing participation among Spanish-speaking and Latinx households. This role collaborates with internal teams and external partners to grow awareness of Arrive services, including homeownership education, counseling, and Arrive Lending, through a host of outreach initiatives, including, but not limited to, tabling and community events, coordinating volunteers, and creating social media and marketing content. In partnership with Lending leadership, the Coordinator supports execution of the Lending Marketing Plan, producing creative content that educates the community on the mortgage process and the value of nonprofit lending.

The ideal candidate is bilingual (Spanish/English), culturally responsive, and able to confidently engage with Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholders. They are highly organized, creative, current with digital content trends, and passionate about equitable access to homeownership.

Reports to:

Strategic Initiatives Manager

Works closely with the Lending Operations Manager and Lending Director on lending outreach and marketing. Lending-related content requires their approval.

Major Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

  • Implement a culturally specific outreach plan targeting Spanish-speaking and Latinx communities
  • Staff tabling events, community fairs, and outreach activities in partnership with Arrive program staff, presenting Arrive's homeownership and lending services effectively
  • Identify community engagement opportunities that reach mortgage-ready households
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Initiatives Manager and Homeownership team to increase client registrations and engagement
  • Coordinate and support outreach events, including logistics, promotion, and volunteer recruitment
  • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, local employers, churches, and media outlets

Marketing, Content & Lending Support

  • Manage or support Arrive's social media presence, ensuring culturally appropriate and engaging content
  • Collaborate with the Lending Operations Manager to execute the Lending Marketing Plan roadmap, developing creative content around its education, value, and proof themes
  • Create content that explains the mortgage process and builds financial literacy, shows the value of noncommission-based nonprofit lending, and shares client success stories
  • Design lending flyers and promotional materials in Canva according to Arrive's brand guidelines
  • Plan, film, and edit short-form videos, and produce photos and graphics for social media
  • Monitor lending, mortgage, and real estate content trends and bring timely ideas to the Lending team
  • Develop Spanish-first content for priority communities, and translate and adapt outreach materials and messaging as needed
  • Track outreach activities and assist in evaluating engagement impact, including progress toward Lending Marketing Plan goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written), with the ability to create content and lead engagement in both languages
  • Experience in community outreach, engagement, or organizing - preferably in a nonprofit, housing, or culturally specific setting
  • Experience planning or staffing outreach events, workshops, or tabling
  • Strong relationship-building, public speaking, and written communication skills, including presenting to diverse audiences
  • Creative development and content creation skills, with current knowledge of social media trends
  • Graphic and visual design, photography, and video editing skills; proficiency with Canva and digital marketing tools
  • Experience planning campaigns and collaborating on creative concepts
  • Understanding of the mortgage industry and homeownership services, or the ability to learn them quickly; knowledge of housing access or financial empowerment a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills; comfortable working independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Commitment to racial equity, inclusion, affordable housing, and economic justice for underserved communities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Salesforce or grant tracking software experience preferred

Working Conditions

Arrive provides a typical office environment. This is a full-time position located in Portland, OR. Arrive operates on a hybrid work model (currently at least two 8-hour days per week in the office), which is subject to change. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel to other training locations is periodically required.

Benefits

The salary range for this full-time position is $56,000 - $61,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skills.
