    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent

    Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience

    High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:

    Provide administrative support to all Community Education programs, including but not limited to after school classes and driver's education.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Processes all student registrations, including late registrations, transfers, refunds and cancellations for Community Education, ALIR and KIN.

    2. Provides front desk coverage as needed.

    3. Greets building guests as they arrive and offers assistance.

    4. Answers all inbound phone calls and retrieves voicemail messages for KIN and Community Education.

    5. Processes KIN and Community Education emails.

    6. Prepares and distributes punch cards to water aerobics participants. Maintains spreadsheet of punch card distribution.

    7. Assists with Star card registration.

    8. Prepares reports and rosters for KIN, Community Education and ALIR classes.

    9. Assists with creating and distributing instructor packets.

    10. Maintains a current file of instructor handouts and duplicates materials as necessary for classes.

    11. Processes Facility Use Agreements into EMS and enters HVAC/NEPD work orders.

    12. Assists the Assistant Director- Adult & Community Education with daily communication. Notifies staff, students & instructors.

    13. Assists with afterschool roster/handbook deployment.

    14. Provides minor tech support in building.

    15. Maintains confidentiality of information.

    16. Reports to work on time every day.

    17. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment and clerical techniques
    • Knowledge of English usage, spelling, and punctuation
    • Knowledge of basic mathematical principles and methods
    • Proficient in the use of computer and various software programs
    • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent telephone and public relations skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Ability to compile, organize, and maintain accurate and complete records and files
    • Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk and occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to drive personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
