EXPRESSSION OF INTEREST - INTERNAL
Interrelate is seeking Expressions of Interests from an experienced Community Development Worker to support and educate communities about the National Redress Scheme (for survivors of child sexual abuse while in the care of an institution) and the assistance available to survivors.
This rewarding role focuses on promoting awareness of Redress Support Services, building strong community partnerships, facilitating referrals, and empowering individuals to access support.
Working remotely and based out of Orange, you will be required to travel throughout the Far West, Central West and Hunter regions to engage with community members, service providers, and key stakeholders.
About the Role
As the Community Development Worker, you will:
- Educate communities about the National Redress Scheme and available support services.
- Promote the Redress Support Services through community development activities, networking events, roadshows, and stakeholder engagement.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, service providers, government agencies, and community groups.
- Act as a community liaison to promote help seeking behaviours in the community through the provision of support and self-empowerment.
- Facilitate effective referral pathways and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in local networks and forums to increase awareness of Redress Support Services.
- Maintain current knowledge of the National Redress Scheme, related supports, and Interrelate''s broader service offerings.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical practices are maintained at all times.
- Complete administrative responsibilities including CRM management, responding to community enquiries, case documentation, and report writing.
- Support service delivery in alignment with government initiatives and funding requirements.

Rate: $72.1571 per hour
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor''s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Redress Scheme.
- Sound knowledge of the impacts of sexual abuse on individuals, families and communities.
- Understanding of cross-cultural considerations when supporting individuals and communities affected by sexual abuse.
- Experience consulting with local communities and stakeholders to identify needs and priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, networking, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Understanding of service delivery and referral pathways.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout regional NSW.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends when required.
