This position functions as a Community Corrections Manager who will be responsible for managing subordinate staff, whom are responsible for supervision of released offenders.
-Manages through subordinate Community Corrections Supervisors the responsibilities related to supervision of released offenders to include: sexually violent persons review process, sex offender registration processes and the return to custody process
-Supervises, mentors, evaluates and disciplines Community Corrections series and clerical support staff
-Coordinates contracts for substance abuse treatment and follow-up services, testing, office leases and programming
-Generates written reports and operational statistics
-Develops and implements policy changes
-Conducts operational audits and ensure compliance
-Participates and may also facilitate committees /meetings and trainings
-Travels/Drives on State business
-Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge of:
-Arizona Criminal Code and criminal/civil court and administrative hearing procedures
-Federal and State Laws, statues policies governing the supervised release systems, administrative discretionary release, sentence computation, release eligibility, sexually violent person, sex offenders and the Bureau of Emergency Communications (BOEC)
-Methods and techniques of investigating, surveillance, interview assessing and counseling
-Principles of sociology and psychology ; cultural and social economic difference and effects on human behavior
-Management and Administrative practices
-Due process and Interstate Compact agreements
-Budgeting principles and practices
-Extradition and detainer processes
-Computerized and manual records/offender information procedures
Skill in:
-Organization/management in administering a high volume, information intensive operation with low error tolerance
-Interpreting diagnostic psychological, education, social history and physical data affecting offender classification and placement
-Analyzing information sources logically and statistically for evaluation purposes
-Researching and identifying applicable statutory authority affecting sentence computation of inmates, release eligibility and classification

-Two (2) years experience as a Community Correctional Supervisor
-Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Business, Public Administration or Criminal Justice from an accredited college or university
-Significant background in Community Corrections or other law enforcement agency with 5 years of management experience

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
Must be able to qualify to possess a concealed carrying permit and firearm in accordance with the Brady Law Act.
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
