Position Description
Harris County Precinct 4 is looking for a Resource Specialist to support the team at a new community center in the Alief area. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people of all ages, thrives in a team environment, and is passionate about creating a welcoming, engaging space for the community.
As Resource Specialist, you'll work closely with the Community Center Manager and Assistant Manager to help organize programs, schedule events, and provide resources that enrich the lives of our participants. With heart, you'll help foster a safe, friendly, and supportive environment. With hustle, you'll juggle multiple projects, assist in developing programs, and ensure the center runs smoothly each day. And with higher standards, you'll help us deliver services that truly make a difference in the lives of Harris County residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clerical support, including answering phones, maintaining files, and preparing correspondence and reports.
Assist in scheduling the use of community center facilities and coordinate logistics for programs, classes, and events.
Support the development and delivery of recreational, educational, and community programs; lead classes as assigned.
Maintain accurate program and participant records.
Assist in developing promotional materials and communicating available programs to the public.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, staff, and community partners.
Support daily facility operations, including room setup, event preparation, and maintaining cleanliness when facilities staff are unavailable.
Participate in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery operations.
Represent Precinct 4 with professionalism at all times, including assisting constituents and reinforcing community center rules as necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the community center.

This role involves a mix of clerical work and active support for programs and events.
You should be comfortable moving around the center, setting up rooms, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
