    Communications & Marketing Coordinator
     

    The Environmental Charter School is looking for a highly dedicated and motivated individual to join its Communications Department.

    OVERVIEW

    The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will support ECS’s Communications team through marketing and outreach communications development, coordination and distribution. Working closely with the Director of Communications, the Coordinator will ensure that all communications assets are aligned to the ECS brand and mission, professionally designed, accurate and grammatically correct. The ideal candidate has strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills. For best consideration, candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, English/Journalism or a related field from an accredited university and a strong work ethic. 

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Create engaging written and visual marketing materials, including emails, newsletters, social media content, and promotional collateral under the guidance of the Director. 

    • Coordinate social media activities by developing graphics, scheduling content, maintaining the content calendar, and monitoring industry and member news for relevant content opportunities.

    • Proofread and edit marketing and communication materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, proper grammar, formatting, and adherence to established brand and style guidelines.

    • Assist with the coordination and distribution of marketing communications through email marketing platforms, Finalsite and other communications tools. 

    • Design marketing and communications materials using Canva. 

    • Support the preparation and organization of marketing materials, branded giveaways, and promotional assets for recruitment, enrollment, and school events.

    • Report and analyze monthly social media, website and email metrics. 

    • Assist in the planning and execution of in-person and virtual events when schedule allows. 

    • Update and maintain ECS Calendars.

    • Take photos and videos during school events. 

     

    Educational Background, Skills, and  Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills as well as strong attention to detail

    • A minimum of three years experience preferred

    • Ability and willingness to learn new skills, work in both independent and collaborative settings, think creatively, and take initiative, particularly on increasing organizational needs such as enrollment marketing, online content creation, and visual storytelling

    • Ability to work collaboratively with ECS constituent groups including employees, parents, volunteers, partners and other stakeholders.

    • Understanding of branding and messaging.

    • Demonstrated proficiency with Canva. Experience using web-based content management and email platforms is preferred but can be learned on the job. 

    • Experience in social media management and digital organizing, with Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Display Network/DSP's is a plus but not required.

    • At least two years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred; internships or relevant project experience may be considered.

    • Has a passion for ECS’s mission and sustainability goals.

    • Need a driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for transportation across school/activity locations

     

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Minimum starting salary of $49,379 with consideration given for prior experience
