About the Team
This role sits within our Global Trust & Safety and Technology Communications team and will work closely with cross-functional Product, Trust and Safety, Legal, Public Policy teams, as well as global communications colleagues across all regions. This role will be critical in communicating how TikTok protects its community-particularly teenagers-by complying with global regulations, with core responsibilities including creating global announcement materials, monitoring regulatory landscapes, providing communications counsel on compliance matters, and empowering global colleagues with essential communications tools and guidance.
Were looking for an experienced communications professional to join our Global Trust & Safety and Technology Communications team. In this role, youll play a leading role in communicating how TikTok protects its community, and teenagers in particular, by complying with regulations around the world.
Responsibilities
Create blog posts, media pitches, and launch materials to amplify global announcements and initiatives, working closely with regional teams to adapt these announcements to their markets.
Draft materials that help empower our global communications colleagues, such as fact sheets and executive bios.
Monitor and analyze the global regulatory landscape to provide actionable insights that protect and enhance TikTok's reputation.
Work collaboratively with Product, Trust and Safety, Legal, Public Policy, and other teams, providing communications counsel and support, ensuring message accuracy and consistency.
Train and advise spokespeople in preparation for media interviews, press conferences, and presentations.
Travel as needed to support the team and be willing to work flexible hours when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
5+ years experience in external communications
Experience working for an agency and in-house at a global company
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
Strong organisational, project management, and analytical skills
Press office or crisis communications experience
Adaptable, proactive, enthusiastic, and results-oriented working style
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of global regulatory efforts that focus on social media and teenagers
Experience working in Public Affairs or Policy Communications
Proven track record of writing to a high standard
Experience collaborating with colleagues based around the world
Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated
Ability to respond to and collaborate on a range of situations with empathy and a people-first mindset
Passion for the technology and entertainment sector
Strategic thinking combined with practical execution skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting quickly and flexibly to change
