Position Summary:
Tommy Nobis Center is seeking a creative and motivated Communications Intern to support our communications, marketing, fundraising, and outreach initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, including social media, public relations, graphic design, and impactful storytelling. The ideal candidate is passionate about making a difference, eager to gain real-world experience in a mission-driven environment, and can effectively communicate our story in a meaningful and moving way.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, drafting, and scheduling content for social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Write client success features for website, newsletters and fundraising communications
- Help create graphics, flyers, and promotional materials using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Conduct research to support marketing campaigns and outreach strategies
- Track media and social engagement analytics and prepare reports
- Help manage website updates and maintain media archive
- Assist with internal communications and special event promotion
- Support video and photography projects as needed
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions

Required Experience:
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge and experience with social media platforms and content strategies
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferred
- Detail-oriented, self-starter, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Passion for nonprofit work and commitment to inclusion
