Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Temporary Communications and Design Specialist for a mission-driven, member-focused organization serving public entities and communities throughout Oregon. This is a temporary, onsite opportunity in Lake Oswego, OR, anticipated for at least 12 weeks but will likely extend.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Communications and Design Specialist will provide hands-on design, publication production, and project coordination support across a variety of print and digital communications. This role will transform approved content, data, and creative assets into polished, accurate, and on-brand materials while helping keep multiple projects, reviews, and deadlines moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented creative professional who enjoys balancing graphic design with communications and project support in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and produce publications, brochures, flyers, presentations, advertisements, charts, infographics, and other print and digital collateral using approved content and brand standards.
• Coordinate publication production by organizing articles, statistics, photos, source materials, edits, reviews, and approvals while maintaining accurate project timelines.
• Format and prepare materials using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, as well as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other communications platforms.
• Proofread and quality-check materials for accuracy, formatting, dates, links, brand consistency, and incorporation of requested edits.
• Support sponsorships, surveys, partner events, video projects, and vendors by tracking deadlines, deliverables, invoices, registrations, materials, and project documentation.
• Maintain organized libraries of publications, graphics, photos, templates, logos, project files, and other communications assets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong publication layout and graphic design skills with an eye for typography, composition, color, accuracy, and brand consistency.
• Professional proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, along with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent proofreading, quality-control, organization, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple firm deadlines.
• Ability to independently execute established projects while following approved templates, brand standards, and review processes.
• Experience with Illustrator, Turtl, SurveyMonkey, data visualization, print production, or vendor coordination is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This temporary position offers an hourly pay rate of $30-$32 per hour. Benefits available for temporary Scion Staffing employees may vary based on assignment eligibility and applicable plan terms.
