Description

Job Title: Communication Desk Assistant 3 (COMDAS3)
Location: Lithia Springs, GA 30122
Duration: 09/21/2026 –09/06/2027
Pay Rate: $28.57/hr
Shift Timings: 1st shift

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and maintain communication with internal customers, including Transmission Management Centers (TMCs) and supervision.
  • Communicate with external customers and ITS partners during system events.
  • Assist Transmission Power System Coordinators with developing and correcting outage reports.
  • Track system events involving transmission lines and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all outages and system events.
  • Answer calls from field personnel entering and exiting substations and power-line rights-of-way.
  • Enter field personnel information accurately into the appropriate database.
  • Provide communication and support to field personnel during routine and emergency conditions.
  • Perform clerical, administrative, and recordkeeping activities within the GCC.
  • Handle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and timely communication.

Required Skills:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, operations teams, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of electrical fundamentals or control-center operations is desirable.
  • NERC/CIP access is required.
 
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree is a plus.
  • Previous experience with an electric power utility is preferred.
  • Experience in generation and/or transmission maintenance, construction, substations, or power-line operations is helpful.
  • Control-center, dispatch, outage coordination, or utility operations experience is highly desirable.
