    Description

    A national commissioning provider is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead full life-cycle commissioning of mission-critical facilities on a programmatic basis. You will own complex projects end to end — MEP design review, commissioning planning, functional testing of electrical and mechanical systems, and closeout — and lead the teams that execute them.

    This is a senior, self-directed seat. You will run project teams of complex scope and broader programs, coordinate other personnel, and help shape the policies and procedures the group works from.

    What You'll Own

    Project Execution — 50%

    • Manage pre-construction: project initiation, kickoff, RFIs, and submittals
    • Coordinate resource and material forecasting
    • Develop, manage, and monitor the project schedule
    • Schedule and lead project meetings
    • Coordinate and perform QA/QC and commissioning plans and specifications against project scope and applicable guidelines
    • Communicate and coordinate project staffing needs
    • Oversee start-up, cutover, pre-functional and functional testing, and project closeout
    • Onboard the project team for mobilization
    • Prepare progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
    • Lead preparation of the final commissioning report for client submission
    • Develop testing plans and procedures for complex projects

    Financial Performance — 20%

    • Prepare, forecast, and monitor budgets, profitability, margins, bill rates, and utilization, carrying overall responsibility for project profitability
    • Raise change orders and additional fees with the client when scope moves
    • Identify project risks and implement strategies that control cost and schedule deviation

    • Client Relationships — 25%

    • Prepare proposals and presentations and support the firm's broader marketing effort
    • Promote the firm's services and expertise to current and prospective clients
    • Serve as a primary point of contact and build long-term client relationships
    • Work with clients to identify and develop new projects
    • Ensure client satisfaction through active communication

      Field Commissioning — 5%

    • Perform on-site inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and equipment validation on electrical and mechanical systems
    • Operate technical testing equipment and coordinate vendors and contractors during execution
    • Deliver assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget

      What You Bring

    • Strong command of commissioning, construction procedures, project management, and industry best practices
    • Experience with the materials, methods, and tools used on mission-critical and commercial construction projects
    • Skill in resource allocation, personnel management, strategic planning, and team coordination
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability, with attention to detail
    • Effective written and verbal communication, including direct client interaction and formal reporting
    • Ability to manage deadlines, delegate work, and carry multiple priorities at once
    • Comfort working independently and collaboratively, both on site and remote
    • Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to pick up client- and industry-specific software
    • Commitment to company and site safety requirements

      Travel

    • Up to 75 percent, potentially including any of the 50 states
    • Must live near a major airport
    • Valid driver's license required
    • Valid REAL ID, or an acceptable alternative such as a passport, required for domestic air travel
    • Car or air travel depending on destination and business need
    • International travel possible depending on skill, training, and project need
    • Relocation opportunities may exist depending on project need
