Description:We are seeking an experienced
Commissioning Engineer with strong PLC programming, equipment commissioning, and electrical/electromechanical troubleshooting experience.
This is a highly hands-on role supporting the installation, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, and servicing of industrial equipment at customer facilities. The ideal candidate will have advanced experience with
Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs and a background in
automotive manufacturing, machine tools, aerospace manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.
This position is ideal for an experienced controls or commissioning professional who enjoys solving technical problems in the field and is comfortable with significant travel.
Key Responsibilities- Commission, calibrate, troubleshoot, and service new or modified equipment at customer facilities
- Ensure equipment is fully functional and operating according to technical specifications
- Assemble, debug, and adjust electronic and electromechanical machine systems
- Support equipment assembly and commissioning at both company and customer sites
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC controls hardware and software
- Program and troubleshoot Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC systems
- Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and machine documentation
- Build and troubleshoot control panels
- Identify and resolve electrical, controls, mechanical, and electromechanical issues
- Provide technical training to customer representatives on company equipment
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal engineering and technical teams
- Document field service activities, expenses, and project-related information
- Travel approximately 6575%, including occasional international assignments
Qualifications- Associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC programming
- Hands-on equipment installation and commissioning experience
- Experience troubleshooting controls hardware and software
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with control panel building
- Strong electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication, mathematical, and computer skills
- MRP/ERP experience is a plus
- SAP experience preferred
- Automotive manufacturing, machine tool, aerospace manufacturing, or similar industrial experience strongly preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel 6575%, including occasional international travel
Travel RequirementsTravel is a significant part of this position. Candidates should be comfortable spending approximately
6575% of their time traveling to customer sites, with occasional international travel possible.
The first several months of training may involve a particularly high amount of travel. Candidates will be responsible for managing travel-related expenses and submitting them for reimbursement in accordance with company procedures. Airfare is covered directly by the company, while other eligible expenses such as hotels, rental cars, and mileage are reimbursed through the company's expense process.
What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a
hands-on controls/commissioning engineer who can independently troubleshoot complex industrial equipment and confidently work with both
Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
You should be comfortable working directly with customers, diagnosing problems in the field, reading electrical schematics, building or troubleshooting control panels, and traveling extensively to support equipment installations and commissioning projects.
