Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

Location: Kemmerer, Wyoming

Type: Contract

Compensation: $69.00 - $115.00

Overview

System One is seeking multiple Commissioning Engineers to support our client for a 12 month contract. Initially, this role will start remote and later deploy to the work site in Kemmerer, WY.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the integrated design, commissioning, and operation of plant systems, structures, and integrated analysis of the facility, focusing on Commissioning plan and product development.
  • Focus on nuclear island commissioning and plant operations related aspects of the Natrium Demonstration Plant, including scheduling, planning, and testing product development.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project management professionals on systems, components, engineering analysis, test planning, and scheduling activities involving plant design, commissioning, and schedule development.
  • Develop and implement commissioning administrative programs and procedures.
  • Create and coordinate an integrated nuclear plant commissioning schedule across multiple organizations.
  • Provide expertise regarding nuclear plant regulations, policies, and industry best practices related to commissioning.
  • Support development, maintenance, and refinement of plant and system requirements, specifications, and strategies throughout the lifecycle.
  • Apply engineering principles to the design of nuclear and industrial facilities and operations.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate plant control and transient responses, providing recommendations for operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee and support licensing activities related to Safety Analysis Reports.
  • Manage and oversee nuclear island commissioning programs, processes, and procedures ensuring testing meets design criteria.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of direct nuclear power plant experience commissioning safety-related systems and components.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in commercial nuclear reactor operations, including Senior Reactor Operator qualification or equivalent; Shift Technical Advisor qualification preferred.
  • Experience in developing or using nuclear plant commissioning processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant design, complex systems, and structures highly desired.
  • Experience with P6 Primavera or similar applications for schedule development preferred.
  • Understanding of nuclear regulations, work control, maintenance strategies, and operational programs.
  • Deep understanding of plant work control processes, operational design philosophies, and plant operations during normal and off-normal events.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and resolve conflicts between objectives.
  • Experience working with quality standards NQA-1 or ISO 9001.
  • High level of trust, integrity, and team-oriented mindset.
