Overview

A leading multidisciplinary engineering firm is expanding its Commissioning Department and seeking a Commissioning Agent with strong mechanical systems expertise. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-performance commercial, industrial, and institutional projects—ensuring every system functions exactly as designed and owners receive maximum value from their investment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical and controls commissioning for HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems

  • Oversee on-site inspections, functional testing, and performance verification for new and retrofit projects

  • Review and validate design documents, specifications, and energy models for constructability and efficiency

  • Develop commissioning plans, system checklists, and detailed documentation reports

  • Coordinate closely with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors throughout all project phases

  • Perform field observation, testing, and thermal imaging to ensure systems meet design intent and operational requirements

  • Track project budgets, schedules, and change orders as related to commissioning activities

  • Contribute to a culture of quality, accountability, and collaboration across project teams


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience commissioning or testing mechanical systems within the commercial or industrial sector

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and controls systems, including sequence of operations

  • Familiarity with TAB procedures, BAS platforms, and MEP coordination

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Revit and AutoCAD exposure preferred

  • Excellent communication and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Self-motivated team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client service
